One of the student life activities that I went to was the soccer game. I was really excited to see our school play and was fortunate to attend a game in which they won. I personally am not a soccer fanatic but watching the game was so entertaining;  it also had me at the edge of my seat waiting to cheer every time they would make a goal.
"We enhance  the gift of diversity"
This Hallmark is relevant to the experience I had on the Orientation Engagement Experience because I met so many people and got to learn a lot from them. To things as simple as their name and where they are from to knowing what religion they are and what their beliefs are on the subject of life. Another thing would be is interacting with them.

At the conference I learned about the correlation between happiness and taking a  class that explains happiness. It showed me that just because you take a class describing happiness it does not necessarily mean that you are happy. Ones happiness has to do with many factors of ones daily life while a class about happiness teaches us about things that have to do with the act of being happy.

I learned a great amount of information  from my peers at the Conference. My peers were very good at explaining their subjects. One of my peers explained the difference between self-efficacy and self-
esteem very well. The way the difference was explained really helped my understanding of both and how we should not confuse the two.

As a member of the audience it would be difficult for me to answer how the communal act of supporting helped my peers in any way due to the fact I had to present. I was mostly focused on understanding the concepts and being able to explain my own topic. I was not able to focus on how my presence affected those who were presenting.

Call to Action Reflection

I truly learned what it means to take time out of my life to help others. Helping little children expand their learning about marine life and what it the sea has to offer was just a minor factor in what was actually a splendid adventure. Helping inform them of what is under the water and why they are important was, in my opinion, the best part of the day; besides the fact I got to make a ton of new               I was able to see how the community partners work on a daily basis to ensure kids have a fun  and safe learning environment. I improved my social skills with those in charge and with children. It was a truly wonderful learning experience overall

Given the opportunity to go to the Marine Science Institution with the Redwood Elementary School shows that we are putting the sixth Hallmark in practice. "We create community among those with whom we work and with those we serve." Since we are going to have the opportunity to work with the fourth graders, we will try to set a relationship with the fourth graders. As college students we should set a friendly learning environment with the kids. We should try to get them engaged and make them interact with the activities. Make it comfortable for them to get them to interact with us and for them to get to know us and learn from us.
